opposites

just the other day
driving south on 35
a semi trailer truck passed me by

always when they pass me
-so close like that
-and at such speed
i just look ahead to the road
and try to stay the course
but this time...
this time!
under the mirror and written on a decorative piece of metal,
"Glory and Pride"

my thought was: but those are opposites!
glory is not at all like pride!

man's pride amounts to a power struggle,
but true glory resides with God and is meek
glory is humble yet majestic
glory can't boast like that semi,
because then it wouldn't be glorious!
